Listen to the documents you make with AI

You asked for a summary, an explanation, a set of notes, and you got pages of text back. Now it wants reading, which was the part you were trying to avoid. Save it as a PDF and listen to it instead, as many times as you like.

Most AI tools will export what they have written, and the ones that will not can be printed to PDF from the browser. Upload it here and it becomes a chaptered audio document.

It plays with the screen off, so it comes with you: the drive in, the walk to the station, the gym, the half hour making dinner. Your place is kept from one of those to the next, and picked up on whichever device is nearest, so a document you started on a laptop carries on from a phone. It is still there next week when you want it again.

When this is worth doing

Why not just have the AI read it out

You can, and for a short answer at your desk that is the quicker thing to do. Most of the chat apps will read their own replies aloud now, and there are browser add-ons that do the same for any page you are looking at.

What they read is the reply, though. Once an answer runs long enough to be a document in its own right, or the AI has put it into a file for you, that is the part you were going to have to sit down with, and it is the part they leave you to read.

They also share a shape: they read what is on the screen, while you are on it. Close the tab and there is nothing to come back to. What you cannot get that way is a document that plays on the bus with your phone in your pocket, keeps its place between Tuesday and Thursday, and lets you skip to the third section because you have already heard the first two.

That is the difference. One reads an answer aloud. The other gives you something to listen to.

What you get once it is uploaded

Chapters detected from the document's own structure, so a long briefing is navigable rather than one continuous track. Your position saved server-side, so you can start on a laptop and carry on from a phone. Words highlighted as they are spoken, with the original page turning in sync if you want to look at something.

What it costs. You get an hour of listening to try it, with no account and no card. Create a free account and you get an hour a month. Unlimited listening is £2.99 a month, and you can cancel any time.

Start with something you have already made

You almost certainly have one: something you generated, meant to read properly, and never did. It is still where you left it, and it is twenty minutes of listening.

It works the same way with anything else that is a PDF: a handbook, a report, a paper, a book. Or browse the public library if you would rather hear something written by a person.
